We’re a small but highly regarded performance and restoration garage with a passion for Japanese performance cars and precision engineering. Our team of 10 skilled professionals work on everything from modern turbocharged icons to full nut-and-bolt restorations of classic JDM legends. Role Overview
As Service Manager, you’ll be the operational heartbeat of our workshop — overseeing day-to-day service activities, coordinating workflow, ensuring quality standards, and providing first-class customer service. You’ll bridge the gap between our workshop technicians and our customers, ensuring every job runs smoothly from booking to handover.
This is a hands-on management role in a busy, passionate environment — ideal for someone who thrives on automotive excellence, enjoys working with people, and has a love of performance cars.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Sales
- Act as the first point of contact for all customers.
- Manage enquiries, quotes, and bookings — ensuring clear, professional communication.
- Provide expert advice on performance upgrades, servicing, and restoration work.
- Build long-term relationships with clients.
- Workshop Coordination
- Schedule and allocate work for technicians, balancing workload and deadlines.
- Liaise closely with the workshop team to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Track job progress and keep customers informed throughout.
- Conduct final quality checks and coordinate vehicle handovers.
- Operations & Administration
- Maintain service records, parts orders, and job sheets accurately.
- Assist with stock control and supplier coordination for parts and consumables.
- Manage invoicing, payments, and warranty claims as required.
- Monitor KPIs such as productivity, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.
- Leadership & Team Support
- Motivate and support a small, close-knit team of technicians.
- Help foster a positive, high-performance culture built on trust and pride in our work.
- Identify areas for improvement in workflow, customer experience, and efficiency.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Service Manager, Workshop Controller, or Senior Service Advisor role (ideally in a performance or specialist environment).
- Knowledge of performance vehicles and tuning culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — professional, friendly, and confident.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable using garage management software.
- A passion for cars — is essential.
- Full UK driving licence required.

- Vehicle Restoration Technician
Hours: 08:00 – 17:30. Weekends – Closed
Salary: £ Competitive based on experience
The ideal candidate will have a passion for performance cars and a keen eye for detail. Restoration work is primarily carried out on older Japanese performance cars (typically Mitsubishi Evolution and Nissan GTR’s).
The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, work methodically and be an organised individual. You will be working alongside our Chief vehicle restorer.
A formal qualification is not mandatory, but previous mechanical experience is essential.
Key responsibilities:
· Assessing and diagnostic of mechanical restoration and repairs.
· To methodically disassemble, label, photograph and store vehicle parts and assemblies.
· To strip components and assess their condition and either restore or replace them.
· To produce concise parts and materials requirements lists
· To reassemble the restored assemblies
· Effectively record details of diagnosis, work completed, and components utilised in line with company standards
· Keep work areas clean and tidy, organised and safe from hazards
· To be able to work independently and as part of the team when required
· Be able to liaise effectively with colleagues and customers at all levels in a polite and efficient manner
· To be aware of the importance and implication of maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and work to ensure they are met at all times
· You will also be required to carry out general service and maintenance on vehicles.
Skills:
· Metalwork skills, corrosion rectification, hand fabrication, welding
- Technician
Becoming a technician at Auto Torque means working as part of a highly skilled team. You will have the ability to problem solve, think analytically and work independently as well as part of a team.
Hours: 08:00 – 17:30. Weekends – Closed
Salary: £ Competitive based on experience
Key responsibilities:
- To undertake maintenance, service and repair activities on motor vehicles to the highest standard
- Carry out all work completely and effectively whilst adhering to manufacturer’s scheduled times to maintain efficiency
- Effectively record details of diagnosis, work completed, and components utilised in line with company standards
- Keep work areas clean and tidy, organised and safe from hazards to health and safety
- To be able to work independently and as part of the team when required
- Be able to liaise effectively with colleagues and customers at all levels in a polite and efficient manner
- To be aware of the importance and implication of maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and work to ensure they are met at all times
Skills:
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent)
- Have at least 2 years experience after qualifying period, of working in a Franchise Dealership (or similar)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Take responsibility for the quality and quantity of their work
