Since opening our doors in 2007, Auto Torque has established itself as the leading performance car specialist in the South East of England. We pride ourselves on providing high quality performance car servicing and tuning, along with excellent customer service.

What you’ll be doing:

The Service Manager is an integral role in the Auto Torque team. You will be the main contact for the customer for the whole time the customer’s vehicle is in our care, keeping them informed of the progress and managing any issues that may arise. You will need to manage both customer and business expectations and having a passion for delivering excellent customer service is essential to make this role a success.

You will also be responsible for the day to day running of the workshop; planning technicians work schedule whilst delivering excellent customer service. Applicants will need to have a proven track record in running a successful fast paced workshop, have good management skills and be able to provide leadership for vehicle technicians.

Key responsibilities:

Providing timely communication to customers, updating them on the progress of their vehicle and any additional work which may be required. Liaison between the workshop and customers is key.

Managing workflow to ensure jobs are finished within time frames and according to standards

Planning of work amongst technicians to ensure maximum efficiency in the workshop.

Ensuring good housekeeping and security in the workshop, leading by example

Ensuring all parts that are required for work within the workshop are ordered in a timely manner

Providing feedback on staff and performance to the Managing Director

Invoicing and taking payments

Overseeing the loan can service


A natural leader ensuring that the workshop and processes run as smoothly as possible

Have good mechanical awareness or understanding of cars and parts

Passionate, organised with excellent attention to detail

Aptitude for multi-tasking and time management skills

Have the ability to work well under pressure

Committed to delivering an unparalleled level of customer service

Excellent and effective communication at all levels, by phone and face-to-face with both colleagues and customers

Since opening its doors in 2007, Auto Torque has established itself as one of the top specialists in the performance car market and 2017 will see us expand in to a new custom built facility. Due to increased growth Auto Torque are looking for a motivated and driven Technician to join the team in 2017.

If you live and breathe performance cars and have previous experience working in the automotive industry this is the ideal role for you.

Key responsibilities

To undertake maintenance, service and repair activities on motor vehicles to the highest standard

Carry out all work completely and effectively whilst adhering to manufacturer’s scheduled times to maintain efficiency

Effectively record details of diagnosis, work completed, and components utilised in line with company standards

Keep work areas clean and tidy, organised and safe from hazards to health and safety

To be able to work independently and as part of the team when required

Be able to liaise effectively with colleagues and customers at all levels in a polite and efficient manner

To be aware of the importance and implication of maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and work to ensure they are met at all times


Qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent)

Have at least 2 years experience after qualifying period, of working in a Franchise Dealership (or similar)

Excellent customer service skills

Take responsibility for the quality and quantity of their work
